A Message From Kurt

Kurt ChilcottSmall business remained squarely in the spotlight in 2011. Everyone generally agrees that it will be small businesses that will lead us out of this economic malaise but how do we get there, or how do we get there more quickly?  CDC Small Business Finance continues to be an advocate to make this happen through words and deeds.

Never have rates been as low as they are today for small businesses looking to move into or expand their facilities, it is just not an opportunity that we will likely see again.  Speaking of opportunities, small businesses  that are looking to refinance their commercial mortgages can also get help from CDC and SBA with the SBA 504 Refinance Program designed to help small businesses restructure debt and even access needed working capital. And we also have new opportunities on the small loan side through Community Advantage loans helping small businesses to access capital of $250,000 and under that banks can’t or won’t provide.

All in all, 2011 has been a good year for bringing new opportunities in lending for small businesses.  These programs provide a new more diverse foundation for small business growth moving into the future and that is good news for everyone – people, companies and communities.
