Making a difference is one of our core values. As a non-profit that strives to help entrepreneurs gain access to capital to start or expand their companies, we see first-hand what it’s like to make a difference for those business owners.

One way we made a difference recently was to volunteer for Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Their food bank network supplies food to more than 37 million Americans each year, including 14 million children and three million seniors.  Our volunteers packed 1,400 bags of food for Feeding America’s BackPack Program, repacked 1,250 pounds of pinto beans into family-sized bags, labeled and boxed 1,000 bags of pinto beans, transferred 2,250 pounds of apples to prepare for distribution to the Mobile Pantry Program, and removed red ribbons from 240 stuffed bears.

More than helping our community, volunteering at Feeding America brought our CDC family even closer together by uniting our efforts for those less fortunate.
