SBA Encourages Us to “Shop Small” on Saturday, November 26th

November 22, 2011 | SBA Small Business Administration

[youtube wBJJUWt47rk nolink]The Saturday after Thanksgiving marks the second annual Small Business Saturday. It is a day dedicated to supporting local small businesses in your community, which will help stimulate our economy and the creation of new jobs.  SBA Administrator Karen Mills said: “Half of America’s workers either own or work for a small business. Small Business Saturday is an opportunity to show our support for our friends and neighbors who throughout the year are growing our local economy, as well as supporting many local initiative and organizations.”

Two out of every three new jobs over the past 15 years have been generated by small businesses.

By patronizing small businesses on Small Business Saturday, we not only can knock out our holiday shopping early, but also support job creation in our communities.
