Shelli Hayman

Shelli Hayman is passionate about helping individuals and teams learn and grow together to efficiently deliver products and services that directly impact communities and the underserved.  She believes the power of collaboration across a diverse front is the foundation of an effective and strategic approach to lending.

Hayman’s drive and commitment is grounded in her 20+ year commitment to the small business lending industry.  Her tenure at CDC Small Business Finance gives her a depth and breadth of experience that is unmatched. She has served in multiple roles ranging from administrative work in her early years to 504 Loan Processor, 504 Loan Coordinator, 504 and Community Advantage Loan Processing Manager, Vice President of Production and Senior Vice President of Small Business Lending.  Her “open door” leadership style has built an environment of openness and trust with her teams and colleagues alike.  She is also committed to an inclusive and diverse culture and serves on CDC Small Business Finance’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council. 

Her current responsibilities include:

  • Management  of sales, processing, underwriting, and funding of SBA and State Guaranteed small business loans up to $250K
  • Guidance and oversight of the Lender Service Provider team
  • Expert on SBA and state loan guarantee guidelines
  • Ensures the customer experience remains a focal point
  • Process improvement 
  • Coaching, growing and mentoring staff to achieve their fullest potential

Hayman has a history of being highly disciplined in loan pipeline management with the ability to prioritize for impact and customer demands.  Her leadership of CDC Small Business Finance’s Paycheck Protection Program is exemplary of her ability to operate in the “gray” and shift gears quickly when needed.  

While born in Houston, Texas she considers herself an Orange County, California native seeing she was only 9 years old when her family relocated.  She currently resides in Mission Viejo, California with her long-time partner, their 12-year-old son and a cockatiel.  In her free time, she loves to hike and garden.  She is also known to love music and dancing as well as cooking and baking when she feels so inclined.
